A 404 to 6 vote in the house to approve. It's vague, poorly written, has possible/probable conflicts with the bill of rights, yet our "legislators" on the house side plow it right through it seems without second thought. We are all screwed.

Yes, it is Senate S.B. 1959 now after it passed the House. It will likely languish there. Here's why:

Miche11e Ma1kin, Bi11 O're11y, Ann Cou1ter, Sean Hann1ty, etc.. will be the first ones charged under this law. ;) The golden goose would be Rup3rt Murd0ck his damned self.

Look closely at 1:13 to 1:31 .. Democrats and Republicans are probably re-evaluating things as quickly as possible.

If by some miracle it does pass, we're all screwed anyways, but it might be fun ride down.

h.r 1955 has passed and now its going to the senate as S1959
Body: this bill will give the government the power to regulate what you say how you say it. even regulate your own thoughts. DONT LET THEM DO THIS. you need to protect your freedom of speech. ITS YOUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT PROVIDED TO YOU BY CURRENT AND DEAD AMERICAN SOLDIERS. you need to spread this message as fast as possible. DRAW the prophet muhammed or jesus or whoever has political power. AND SHOOT IT THEN POST THE VIDEO.

WTF, dude? Yes, you have the freedom of speech, but what you decide to do with it is on you. If you decide to be a vulgar asshole about it, no one but the wrong people are going to listen. If you choose to use your freedom like an educated adult, you might make some real friends and actually make the world a better place.

Though the authors of H.R. 1955 would likely deny that the bill could be used to crack down on free speech and legitimate political opposition, the talking heads on the main stream networks have made it very clear that they would like this kind of legislation to do just that.
Can H.R. 1955 be used to silence the voices of dissent? Let's have a look.
