MAF Re-Launches Coffee and Cookies for the Troops ProgramThis week Move America Forward announces that it is renewing the successful “Coffee and Cookies for The Troops” program.The Coffee and Cookies program is a year-round effort to send the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan some of the most scarce items, gourmet coffee and name brand Oreo cookies to go with it. It has come to our attention that most state governments, and to a large extent the Federal Government (Department of Defense) have been largely ineffective in getting troops the proper information in a timely fashion so that they can successfully vote. As a result MAF put together the HEROES VOTE packet which includes vital information on absentee voting, voting online, critical contact information for election officials and a registration card that works for any state. With your contributions, we will shortly begin sending 5 or 10 of these packets to our care package recipients in Iraq and Afghanistan so that regardless of what state our troops originate from, they will be able to vote in this next important election!
