Valerie Bowman Jarrett (born November 14, 1956) is a senior advisor and assistant to the president
for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Obama administration.
She is a Chicago lawyer, businesswoman, and civic leader.
Prior to that she served as a co-chairperson of the Obama-Biden Transition Project.[1][2]

[edit] Personal

Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran to American parents James E. Bowman and Barbara Taylor Bowman.
Her father, a pathologist and geneticist, ran a hospital for children in Shiraz,
as part of a program where American doctors and agricultural experts sought to help jump-start
developing countries' health and farming efforts. When she was five,
the family moved to London for one year, returning to Chicago in 1963.[3]

In 1966 her mother, Barbara T. Bowman, was one of four child advocates that created the Erikson Institute.
The Institute was established to provide advanced knowledge in child development for teachers and other professionals
working with young children.[4]

As a child she spoke Persian and French.[5]

Jarrett graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon in 1974. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University in 1978,
and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Michigan Law School in 1981.[6]

In 1983 Jarrett married Dr. William Robert Jarrett, son of famed Chicago Sun-Times reporter Vernon Jarrett.
She attributes her switch from a private to a public career to their daughter Laura's birth and her own desire
to do something that would make the daughter proud.[7]

To one reporter's e-mailed question about her divorce, she replied,
"Married in 1983, separated in 1987, and divorced in 1988.
Enough said."[7] In a Vogue profile, she further explained "We grew up together.
We were friends since childhood. In a sense, he was the boy next door.
I married without really appreciating how hard divorce would be."[7] William Jarrett died of a sudden heart attack in 1993.[7]

[edit] Career

[edit] Chicago politics

Jarrett got her start in Chicago politics in 1987 working for Mayor Harold Washington[8] as
Deputy Corporation Counsel for Finance and Development.[9]

Jarrett continued to work in the mayor's office in the 1990s.
She was Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard Daley, during which time (1991) she hired Michelle Robinson,
then engaged to Barack Obama, away from a private law firm.
Jarrett served as Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development from 1992 through 1995,
and was Chair of the Chicago Transit Board from 1995 to 2005.[9]

[edit] Business administration

Until joining the Obama Administration, Jarrett was the CEO of The Habitat Company, a real estate development and management company[10] which she joined in 1995. She has been replaced by Mark Segal, a lawyer who joined the company in 2002, as CEO. Daniel E. Levin is the Chairman of Habitat, which was formed in 1971.[11] Jarrett was a member of the board of Chicago Stock Exchange (2000–2007, as Chairman, 2004–2007).

She is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago Medical Center,[9] Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago and a Trustee of Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry.[12] Jarrett serves on the board of directors of USG Corporation, a Chicago based building materials corporation.

Jarrett's previous year's income, in a 2009 report, was a $300,000 salary and $550,000 in deferred compensation from
The Habitat Executive Services, Inc. The Wall Street Journal also reported she disclosed payments of more than $346,000 for
service on boards of directors that reflect her political ties, and work in Chicago real estate and community development.
She was paid $76,000 for service as a director of Navigant Consulting, Inc. a Chicago-based global consulting group with
governmental clients. She received $146,600 from USG, and $58,000 to serve on the
board of Rreef American REIT II, a real estate investment trust based in San Francisco.
The Chicago Stock Exchange, Inc., paid her $34,444.[13]

[edit] Advisor to Barack Obama

Obama speaks to Jarrett and other aides during a senior staff meeting in August 2009.

Barack Obama chats with Valerie Jarrett in the Blue Room, White House, 2010.

Jarrett is one of President Obama's longest serving advisors and confidantes and was
"widely tipped for a high-profile position in an Obama administration."[14][15]

Unlike Bert Lance, who arrived from Georgia with President [Jimmy] Carter and became his budget director,
or Karen Hughes, who was President [George W.] Bush's communications manager,
Ms. Jarrett isn't a confidante with a particular portfolio.
What she does share with these counterparts is a fierce sense of loyalty and a
refusal to publicly say anything that may reflect poorly on the candidate — or steal his thunder.[14]

On November 14, 2008, President-elect Obama selected Jarrett to serve
as White House Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Relations and Public Liaison.[16]

Jarrett is one of three Senior Advisors to President Obama.[17] She holds the retitled position of
Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement,[17] managing the White House Office of Public Engagement,
Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Office of Urban Affairs, and Chairs the White House Council on Women and Girls, and White House Office of Olympic,
Paralympic, and Youth Sport.[18]
She said that the 2011 report Women in America which the administration produced for the Council on Women and Girls would be used to guide policy-making.[19]

The New York Times said that while there is no evidence of political favoritism, that Gregory Nelson, an aide to Jarrett,
met with lobbyists from Solyndra at least three times. The company's failure could cost taxpayers more than a half-billion dollars.[20]

[edit] Relationship with President Obama

Obama speaks with Jarrett in a West Wing corridor.

In 1991, as Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Richard Daley, she interviewed Michelle Robinson for an opening in the mayor’s office, and offered her the job immediately.[21] Michelle Robinson asked for time to think and also asked Jarrett to meet her fiancé, Barack Obama. The three ended up meeting for dinner. After the dinner, Michelle took the job with the mayor's office, and Valerie Jarrett reportedly took the couple under her wing and “introduced them to a wealthier and better-connected Chicago than their own,” and taking Michelle with her when she left the mayor's office to head Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development.[22]

Valerie Jarrett

Longtime Friend And Supporter
Obama has named his longtime friend and supporter Valerie Jarrett to be his White House senior adviser.

Jarrett, who hired Michelle Obama for a job in the Chicago mayor's office years ago, is one of the president-elect's closest friends and advisers.  Her name has been floated for several top administration jobs.  But Obama settled on the senior adviser role, said a person close to the president-elect and willing to speak only on background because the decision has not been officially announced.

A White House senior adviser can handle a range of duties. President George W. Bush's top political aide Karl Rove held the title in the current administration.

Jarrett has a background in real estate and politics in Chicago and is linked to a series of real estate scandals, including several housing projects operated by convicted felon and Obama fundraiser/friend Antoin "Tony" Rezko.

According to the documents obtained by Judicial Watch from the Illinois Secretary of State, Valerie Jarrett served as a board member for several organizations that provided funding and support for Chicago housing projects operated by real estate developers and Obama financial backers Rezko and Allison Davis, Obama's former boss.  Jarrett was a member of the Board of Directors for the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corporation along with several Davis and Rezko associates, as well as the Fund for Community Redevelopment and Revitalization, an organization that worked with Rezko and Davis.

As Chief Executive Officer of the Habitat Company Jarrett also managed a controversial housing project located in Obama's former state senate district called Grove Parc Plaza.  According to the Boston Globe the housing complex was considered "uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage.

Obama signed an executive order in March 2009 that established a "White House Council on Women and Girls."  The Council will be chaired by Jarrett, and the day-to-day operations will be run Tina Tchen, who is currently director of the White House Office of Public Liaison and was a major fundraiser for Obama during the campaign.

"The mission of the Council will be to provide a coordinated federal response to the challenges confronted by women and girls to ensure that all Cabinet and Cabinet-level agencies consider how their policies and programs impact women and families," reads a memo describing the move and obtained by The Fix.

As soon as I saw Valerie Jarrett's name, I knew this was going to be a big job -- every single policy, of every single government agency will have to fit the women’s rights agenda -- As interpreted by Obama and the Bride -- as executed by the trusted aid -- that's breathtaking!

Jarrett's Habitat Company

Earlier this year The Boston Globe reported on the stunning failures of Jarrett's companies. "Jarrett is the chief executive of Habitat Co., which managed Grove Parc Plaza from 2001 until this [past] winter and co-managed an even larger subsidized complex in Chicago that was seized by the federal government in 2006, after city inspectors found widespread problems."
Jarrett's Staff

But in order to get the full impact of the presence of Jarrett on the Obama team, one must take a close look at her team.

Jarrett has surrounded herself with some rather unsavory characters who appear to be more like 'enforcers' than 'advisers.'

Meet Mike Strautmanis, Jarrett's Chief of Staff.

Strautmanis is one of Barack and Michelle Obama's closest friends, going all the way back to the beginning in Chicago.  He has worked not only for the Obamas but for disgraced former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

But here is an interesting tidbit concerning Strautmanis, in Jarrett's own words:

Obama describes him as a "utility man," and campaign advisor and Obama family friend Valerie Jarrett says he's the person you call when you need help with a delicate situation.  "He understands the importance of the personal touch and that e-mails and phone calls are not always appropriate," she said, talking about a specific example that she wouldn't describe in detail.  "There are times when a face-to-face is just the right thing to do. He dropped everything and hopped on a plane.

And now meet an Obama mystery man that the campaign staff didn't even know existed. In fact, nobody knew what he looked like.

His name is Michael Signator.

Michael Signator, a 50-year-old police officer in suburban Chicago, is paid as one of Barack Obama's campaign staffers -- nearly $50,000 during Obama's Senate campaign in 2004; and $47,600 from March 2007 through August of this year -- yet no one knows what he looks like, and even Obama staffers didn't know he works for the campaign.

So just who is Michael Signator?

Although his job description is to provide "supplemental security support" and to coordinate the Obama family's personal and campaign schedules, Signator appears to be much more than an aide.

The relationship between Obama and Signator is one of the most highly guarded secrets in Washington and Obama's home-base of Chicago.  In fact, at first Obama officials denied that Signator worked for Obama...until it became clear that he was Obama's driver and bodyguard during the campaign.  But the extent of Signator's activity on behalf of Obama is murky.

The Jarrett Connection -- Obama’s Hawaii And Chicago Communist Networks Were Linked
Romantic Poet blog has published some interesting artifacts that provide proof that Obama’s Hawaii and Chicago communist networks were linked?

It is now well established that Barack Obama was linked to the Hawaiian Communist Party network through his boyhood/teenage mentor Frank Marshall Davis.

It is also well known that after moving to Chicago, Obama linked up with the local communist networks.

Manning Marable, a leader of the Communist Party offshoot Committees of Correspondence for Democracy & Socialism claims that Obama "understands what socialism is.  A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists.  There are a lot of people like that in Chicago who have worked with him for years…"

This leads to two key questions.

A. Were the Hawaii and Chicago networks connected?

B . Did Obama’s connection to Frank Marshall Davis in any way influence his progress up the Chicago political ladder?

If the answer is yes to both, there are significant implications.

It means that that the Communist Party USA was watching Obama from an early age and was willing to help his political career.

Frank Marshall Davis was active in the Chicago Communist Party until he moved to Hawaii in late 1948.

I speculated in this post that Davis may have known left wing journalist Vernon Jarrett in post war Chicago.  A connection would be significant because the Jarrett family has played a very important role in Obama’s rise to power.

Both Jarrett and Davis worked in the communist dominated South Side Community Art Center and on the communist influenced Chicago Defender newspaper, in late 1940s Chicago.

I have since found conclusive evidence that Davis and Jarrett not only knew each other, but worked together in another Communist Party dominated organization -- The Citizen’s Committee to Aid Packing House Workers.

Obama Rules
According to Jarrett, the Obamamessiah is "ready to rule." (video)

The co-chair of Barack Obama’s Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press this weekend and used, shall we say, an interesting word to described what she thinks Barack Obama will be doing in January when he’s officially sworn into office.  She told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to "rule" on day one.  It’s a word that reflects the worst fears that people have for Obama the "arrogant," the "messiah," that imagines he’s here to "rule" instead of govern.

Jarret told Brokaw that "given the daunting challenges that we face, it’s important that president elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one."

Someone needs to get to Jarrett and inform her that American politicians are not Kings and do not "rule" from office.  But if this is the attitude of Obama’s transition team, what does The One himself imagine he is about to unleash?  Could the fears that Obama thinks he is being anointed America’s King be far off with this sort of talk flying about?

Obama’s New Nuclear Advisor
Front Page Magazine says the last time that Obama’s senior advisor and assistant Valerie Jarrett was in the news, her favored political recruit, Anthony "Van" Jones, was resigning his post as White House presidential advisor amid revelations of a radical background that included communist sympathies and his support for 9/11 Truther conspiracy.  Now Jarrett, widely viewed as Obama’s radical alter ego, has reemerged -- this time as a foreign policy guru.

As Obama and Russian President Medvedev signed a new nuclear arms treaty last week, Jarrett sat observing nearby.  That Jarrett has once again found herself in a position of influence is not surprising.  Jarrett proudly acknowledges her remarkable closeness to President Obama.  "We have kind of a mind meld" is the way she put it in a New York Times magazine interview last summer.  "When senior staff meetings in the Oval Office break up, Valerie Jarrett often stays behind" with Obama, the Times article reported.  In short, Jarrett is like a member of the Obama family, but one who has seized command of a variety of policies at the White House.

Although neither elected, nor confirmed, nor even vetted, and without previous Washington experience, Jarrett has been installed as senior adviser and assistant to Obama for intergovernmental and public engagement.  She also was given the recently created Office of Urban Affairs, even though we have a cabinet member who is Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.  Now it appears she is involved in our nation’s foreign policy.

Why else would she be in Prague for the preparations and signing of the arms treaty?  As Obama has said, "She is someone I trust completely.  She combines the closeness of a family member with the savvy and objectivity of a professional businesswoman and public-policy expert," the Times magazine article stated.  She is trusted "to speak for me particularly when we are dealing with delicate issues."  Such as nuclear arms matters?  If so, that should be cause for concern.  Jarrett’s only experience in foreign affairs is the insignificant fact that she was born in Iran, where her father was a doctor working for an American aid program.  She lived in London as a child before coming to the United States.

Trevor Loudon has documented the close working relationship between Jarrett's late father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, and a certain Frank Marshall Davis, in a Communist Party front in late 1940s Chicago.

Frank Marshall Davis -- a covert Communist Party member -- then went to Hawaii and ended up mentoring the young Barack Obama, and when Obama moved to Chicago, Vernon Jarrett used his newspaper columns to promote Obama's political career.

The Chicago Communist Party mucks in as well and writes Vernon a lovely eulogy when he dies a few years ago.

Then, coincidentally, Valerie Jarrett hires Michelle Obama, becomes friends with Barack and ends up advising him in the White House.  Chicago -- it's such a small, small world.
And Speaking Of Communists
Trevor Loudon says senior Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett's late father-in-law and Chicago Sun-Times columnist Vernon Jarrett, was a key member of the South Chicago communist left of the late 1940s.

After graduating from Knoxville College in Tennessee, Jarrett moved to Chicago in 1946 to work as a journalist.  On his first day on the job at the radical Chicago Defender, he was sent to cover a race riot.  The Defender was heavily influenced by the Communist Party USA and included on its roster well known Chicago Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis.

Jarrett and Davis worked on the Defender around the same time.  They certainly knew each other through the Communist Party and its fronts.

In June 1946, Vernon Jarrett was elected to the Illinois Council of the Communist Party's youth wing, then known as American Youth for Democracy.  This is according to Testimony of Walter S. Steele regarding Communist activities in the United States.  Hearings before the Committee on Un-American Activities, House of Representatives, Eightieth Congress, first session, on H. R. 1884 and H. R. 2122, pages 75,76.  It is the first hard evidence tying Vernon Jarrett directly to the Communist Party.  Frank Marshall Davis, incidentally, was an official sponsor of American Youth for Democracy, along with confirmed communists Howard Fast, Langston Hughes, John Howard Lawson and Dirk Struik.

In April 1948, Frank Marshall Davis and Vernon Jarrett were working together as members of the publicity committee of the communist controlled Citizens' Committee to Aid Packing-House Workers.
Besides Davis and Jarrett, communist officials of the strike committee included Oscar Brown (Treasurer), Louise Patterson (Assistant Treasurer) and Ishmael Flory (food & groceries committee).

Later that year, Frank Marshall Davis left Chicago for Hawaii to work on the Honolulu Record, then edited and run by Communist Party member Koji Ariyoshi.

Loudon is just getting warmed up.  He's got a ton of stuff here . . .
Valerie Jarrett Has A Secret Service Detail

Keith Koffler is reporting that Senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett apparently has Secret Service protection.
This is highly unusual, and of course, costly. I’ve never really heard of someone who is merely a senior White House aide getting assigned Secret Service agents.

My understanding is that at the senior levels of the Bush White House, at least during the latter days, only the president and his family, the vice president, the chief of staff, the national security adviser, and the homeland security adviser were assigned Secret Service agents.

It’s possible that Jarrett has received enough specific and credible threats to justify Secret Service protection, or that the Secret Service has for some other reason calculated that she needs bodyguards. But it’s also possible this is a case of oddly overdoing it -- and overusing taxpayer resources.

Is she really such a public figure? I’m sure 90 percent of Americans have little to no idea who she is. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is far better known and spends his time warning terrorists and our foreign adversaries about bad behavior while trumpeting the killing of Osama Bin Laden. I’m sure he does not have protection.

According to a local report, Jarrett was accompanied by at least two Secret Service agents during her pre-Martin Luther King Day appearance in Atlanta Sunday, where she bashed Republicans in church.

One source of mine, who is knowledgeable about what a Secret Service detail would look like, said he spotted Jarrett at Reagan National Airport with her protection as she departed Washington just before Christmas.

After watching her blow past a long line at the security gate, he noticed she had one Secret Service agent in back and the other in front, with someone who was possibly a third agent to her side.
Valerie Jarrett NEEDS Secret Service agents assigned to her. Who else will carry her luggage? You don't expect her to carry her bags -- do you?
And you have to laugh at these Democrats, who are always screaming about separation of Church and State -- except when it comes to black churches -- where it's the norm.

The motto of the Democrat Party is "there's no standard like a double standard."

The Jarrett Connection. Proof That Obama’s Hawaii and Chicago Communist Networks Were Linked?

Accolades to Trevor Loudon at New Zeal. He has done extensive research and has obtained unrefutable evidence. A must read for ALL AMERICANS! It is a long piece but the documentation is included.

“organized to support the united packing-House workers of America C.I.O. now on strike

The letter above is dated April 12, 1948. Note that CIO (Congress of Industrial Organizations) was at the time a communist controlled labor federation.
To the left is a partial list of Citizen’s Committee to Aid Packing House Workers officials.

Note the names Oscar C. Brown (Treasurer) and Louise T. Patterson (Assistant Treasurer), F.M. Davis and Vernon Jarrett.

To confirm the connection, below is a close-up of the committee’s publicity committee. Note that it is chaired by Vernon Jarrett and includes Frank Marshall Davis.
That the Citizen’s Committee was communist influenced is beyond doubt.
Louise T Patterson
Louise T Patterson was the wife of Illinois Communist Party vice-chairman and attorney William Patterson and a prominent Party member in her own right. Louise Patterson was still a leader of the Illinois Communist Party well into the 1970s.
Ishmael Flory
Further down the page was list of the organization’s “Food and groceries committee”. Named among them was Ishmael Flory, a leader of the Illinois Communist Party from the late 1930s until his death in 2004.

Incidentally, one of the eulogists at Flory’s funeral was Timuel Black, a well known member of Committees of Correspondence for Democracy&Socialism and a long time friend and political supporter of Barack Obama.

Oscar C Brown
Oscar C Brown-later a famous jazz musician under the name Oscar Brown jnr, was also at the time a Communist Party member. he joined in 1946 and was expelled around 1954.

In 1948 Vernon Jarrett left his job as journalist at the Chicago Defender to start a black oriented radio show “Negro Newsfront” with Oscar Brown.

Jarrett was clearly on the far left and almost certainly, like his colleague Frank Marshall Davis, a covert member of the Communist Party.

Jarrett worked hard promoting socialist causes including the communist controlled Progressive Party.

Jarrett and henry wallace
Vernon Jarrett went on to become the Chicago Tribune’s first black syndicated columnist and was a founder of the National Association of Black Journalists.

According to a Washington Post obituary May 25th 2004

Mr. Jarrett continually shone a light on African American history and pertinent issues in Chicago and throughout the country. He stoked the political embers in Chicago that led to the 1983 election of the city’s first African American mayor, Harold Washington.

Vernon Jarrett with Harold Washington
Vernon Jarrett was a key influence in Washington’s decision to run for the Chicago mayoralty and remained a key supporter through his four year tenure.

Harold Washington defeated the Daley machine to win the mayoralty backed by a coalition led by Chicago’s Communist Party and the local branch of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

DSA member and socialist historian Paul Buhle, wrote in a 1992 article for the Encyclopedia of the American Left;

Communists also gained from long-standing political contacts in the black community. Victories of black mayoral and congressional candidates with decades — old ties to the CP — a short list would include Coleman Young and George Crocket in Detroit, Gus Newport in Berkeley, and somewhat more ambiguously, Harold Washington in Chicago

Washington was actively involved in Communist Party fronts such as the US Peace Council and the Chicago Committee on Southern Africa, right up to winning the mayoralty-with Party support. After victory he stacked his administration full of communists, socialists and sympathisers to create one of the most far left administrations in US history-cut short only by his pre-mature death after four years in office.

John Bachtell
I quote from remarks by Illinois Communist Party organiser John Bachtell to a “Special District Meeting on African American Equality and Building the Communist Party and Young Communist League, Chicago”, IL September 30, 2007.
The legacy of Harold Washington’s election and his administration is in the collective consciousness not only of the African American community, but the entire city. Many of his democratizing achievements endure 20 years later.
This was also reflected in the historic election of Barack Obama. Our Party actively supported Obama during the primary election. Once again Obama’s campaign reflected the electoral voting unity of the African American community, but also the alliances built with several key trade unions, and forces in the Latino and white communities.
It also reflected a breakthrough among white voters. In the primary, Obama won 35% of the white vote and 7 north side wards, in a crowded field. During the general election he won every ward in the city and all the collar counties. This appeal has continued in his presidential run.

Barack Obama has stated that Harold Washington’s victory in 1983 was the spur that made him leave New York to move to Chicago.

Vernon Jarrett was also a fan of Barack Obama. He watched his career from its early stages and became an ardent supporter.

Carol Moseley Braun

In 1992 Obama worked for the ACORN offshoot, Project Vote to register black voters in aid of the Senate Campaign of Carol Moseley Braun. Unsurprisingly Moseley Braun also had strong Communist Party ties and was Harold Washington’s legislative floor leader.

Obama helped Moseley Braun win her Senate seat, then took it over himself in 2004-backed of course by the same communist/socialist alliance that had elected his political predecessors Harold Washington and Carol Moseley Braun.

Commenting on the 1992 race, Vernon Jarrett wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times of August 11th 1992;

Good news! Good news! Project Vote, a collectivity of 10 church-based community organizations dedicated to black voter registration, is off and running. Project Vote is increasing its rolls at a 7,000-per-week clip…If Project Vote is to reach its goal of registering 150,000 out of an estimated 400,000 unregistered blacks statewide, “it must average 10,000 rather than 7,000 every week,” says Barack Obama, the program’s executive director...

Dee Myles is a Chicago activist and chair of the Education Commission of the Communist Party USA. In 2004, after Vernon Jarret’s death from cancer she penned this tribute for the People’s Weekly World of June 5th.

Readers like me can be extremely selective of the journalists we read habitually… We are selective about the journalists to whom we become insatiably addicted, and once hooked we develop a constructive love affair without the romance…
Such was my experience with Vernon Jarrett, an African American journalist in Chicago who died at the age of 86 on May 23. I became a Vernon Jarrett addict, and I am proud of it!
Vernon Jarrett’s career as a journalist in Chicago began and ended at the Chicago Defender, the African American daily paper. In between, he was the first Black journalist at the Chicago Tribune, and I first began to read his articles during his tenure at the Chicago Sun-Times Jarrett’s claim to fame is that he was a partisan of the cause of African Americans in the broad democratic tradition of Paul Robeson and W.E.B. DuBois…
Robeson and DuBois were both Communist Party members. On April 9th, 1998 at Chicago’s South Shore Cultural Center, Jarrett hosted a Paul Robeson Citywide Centennial Celebration event, with his old comrade and Party sympathiser Margaret Burroughs and former Communist Party members Studs Terkel and his old friend Oscar C.Brown.

Dee Myles continues;

Jarrett was fanatical about African Americans registering and voting in mass for socially conscious candidates. He championed Harold Washington like a great warrior, and this March, from his hospital bed, wrote an article appealing to Black Chicago to turn out to vote for Barack Obama in the Illinois primaries. Obama astounded everyone with an incredible landslide victory as the progressive, Black candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for the U.S. Senate seat from Illinois. From his sickbed, Vernon Jarrett issued a clarion call, and the people responded.

The Jarrett/Obama conection did not end with Vernon Jarrett’s death-it moved to a higher level with his famous daughter-in-law Valerie Jarrett.

A former Deputy Corporation Counsel for Finance and Development under Harold Washington, Jarrett continued to work in the mayor’s office into the 1990s.

In 1991, while Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard Daley, Jarrett hired Michelle Robinson, then engaged to Barack Obama.

Later Valerie Jarrett ran the finances for Obama’s 2004 Senate bid and served as treasurer of Obama’s HOPEFUND.

The relationship is more than professional-Jarrett is regarded as one of the Obamas’ closest friends and advisors.

Valerie Jarrett and Obama
According to Take Political Action May 24th 2008;
“She’s always been the other side of Barack’s brain.” That’s how an Obama insider described Valerie Jarrett as an Obama campaign aide announced Thursday night the former CTA chief and current Habitat Co. CEO is taking on a larger role to help her close friend win his White House bid.
The development comes as Jarrett, a charter member of Sen. Barack Obama’s kitchen cabinet, has been formalizing her portfolio and stepping up the pace within the past few weeks as a top advisor within the campaign.

Though she will be part-time, Jarrett will be one of the most visible and powerful African-Americans in the top rungs of the Obama operation… Today Valerie Jarrett serves as one of three Senior Advisors to President Obama. She is Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, and Chairs the White House Commission on Women and Girls.

Frank Marshall Davis works closely in communist causes with Vernon Jarrett in Chicago. Davis moves to hawaii where he eventually meets and mentors a young Barack Obama. Then Obama moves to Chicago where his career is promoted by both Davis’s old colleague Vernon Jarrett and the Communist Party. Vernon Jarrett’s daughter-in-law employs Barack Obama’s fiance, befriends the family and becomes one of President Obama’s most trusted advisors. The Communist Party throws its entire weight behind Obama’s presidential campaign.

Are we expected to believe that this is all mere coincidence?

Would there be an Obama/Jarrett relationship today, if there had been no Frank Marshall Davis/Jarrett connection through the Communist Party of post war Chicago?

What role, if any, has the modern Communist Party USA played in fostering that relationship in more recent times?

The Communist Party USA continues to back their “friend” Barack Obama.

How deeply has the Communist Party been involved in advancing Obama’s political career-through the Jarrett family, or by other means?

The answers to these questions will have major implications for the future of what’s left of the free world.

  1. But is Valerie Jarrett a US citizen?

    From Romanticpoet:

Yes, Valerie Jarrett is a US citizen. Even though she was born in Iran, her parents were Americans. Here is some information you may find useful.

    Valerie Jarrett’s Early Years

    An African-American Chicagoan in Iran

Valerie Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran, on November 14, 1956. Her parents, Dr. James and Baraba Bowman, were in Iran as part of Dr. Bowman’s job helping to run a children’s hospital. At the age of five, the Bowman family moved to London for one year, and then returned home to Chicago, where they had deep roots. (Her grandfather was the first African American to head the Chicago Housing Authority and her father, Dr. James Bowman, a specialist in hematology and pathology, became the first black resident at Chicago’s St. Luke’s Hospital.) Valerie was teased by her Chicago classmates because of her English accent, which she acquired during her first five years overseas. She spoke Farsi and French, in addition to English, as a child.

    Valerie Jarrett’s Educational Background

    A Focus on Learning

Valerie’s mother is Barbara Bowman, an education expert and co-founder of the Erikson Institute, a graduate school for the study of child development. It is no surprise, then, that a big emphasis on learning and education made Valerie a great student. During her high school years, Valerie traveled to places like Ghana, Nigera and Egypt during the summer break. She attended the University of Chicago Laboratory School, then Northfield Mount Hermon, a Massachusetts boarding school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford in 1978. She went on to earn a law degree from the University of Michigan in 1981.

    Valerie Jarrett’s Family Life

A Daughter Inspires Her Mother’s Career

Jarrett was married to William Robert Jarrett, a childhood friend, from 1983 to 1988. She has one daughter, Laura, whom she says is the reason she switched from a private to a public career, wanting to do something to make the world a better place for her daughter. While serving in the Chicago Mayor’s Office her devotion to her daughter as a single parent was well known. It was rumored that she often checked her watch during meetings, and once told Mayor Daley she had to leave early to make her daughter’s Halloween parade.

    Valerie Jarrett’s Career

In her early career, Valerie Jarrett practiced law at two private law firms. After deciding to seek a career in the public life, she took a job in 1987 as Deputy Corporation Counsel for Finance and Development for Chicago Mayor Harold Washington. After Mayor Washington’s tragic early death, Valerie continued to serve in the mayor’s office, working as Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard Daley. She was the Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development from 1992 through 1995, and then the Chair of the Chicago Transit Board from 1995 to 2003.

In 1995, Jarrett joined The Habitat Company, a developer and manager of residential apartments and condominiums. From November 1995 through January 31, 2007, she was the Executive Vice President of The Habitat Company, and she became the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Habitat Company on January 31, 2007.

In addition to her primary work with the city and the Habitat Company, Jarrett served as Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Stock Exchange, Inc, from April 2004 through April 2007, and Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Stock Exchange Holdings, Inc., from February 2005 through April 2007. She also served as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago from January 2006 through April 2007

Ms. Jarrett currently serves as a co-chair of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team and as a Director of USG Corporation, Inc., Navigant Consulting, Inc. and RREEF America II. She is Chairman of the University of Chicago Medical Center Board of Trustees. She is also Vice Chairman of The University of Chicago Board of Trustees, the Chicago 2016 Olympic Committee, and Metropolis 2020. She is a Director of the Local Initiative Support Corporation, The Joyce Foundation, The Metropolitan Planning Council and the Central Area Committee. She is a Trustee of the Museum of Science and Industry.

On November 14, 2008, President-elect Barack Obama selected Jarrett as White House Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Relations and Public Liaison. Jarrett will manage the White House Office of Public Liaison and work with state and local governments.

  2. People are finally waking up to the reality of a socialist/communist coup d’etat, built on the ruins of Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of our Constitution. Not only have the Democrats given us our first black president; they have also bestowed upon us the first socialist/communist president to also be a foreigner. Wow, how progressive can you get?

When Obama is disqualified–before long, let’s hope–Biden’s tenure may also be null and void since it depends on Obama’s fraudulent election. Then Pelosi might become president, making the Dems responsible for the first black prez and the first woman prez in the same year. Now is that a great party or what?

  3. Incorrect, “Harry.” Once, a fraudulent prez is broomed out, Biden would hold the top position for a very short time. The pres. elections would be held all over again. BO, if you’re listening, you will either leave of you own volition or ,,,(you know what happens to traitors, now DON’T you?)

  4. Great article loaded with info.
I will add it to my dossier on Jarrett.
Perhaps now is the time for a new article on her.

  10. As a Catholic, and Journalism grad U of Minn 1950, I discovered that Jesus’ saying truth shall make you free was also Thomas Jefferson’s concern. If he had to choose government witout newspapers, or newspapers without government, he said he would not hesitate to choose the Latter. The Jarrett Connection is thus of significant value for our nation’s future. Muslims are taught that Jesus was never crucified. The Press fails us. Joe mcCarthy deserves vindication per facts by Stanton Evans’ book. The holocaust of abortions was addressed by recent Popes. Typical Alinsky response.

Just baiting-style comment and don’t discuss the topic.

Didn’t you get the memo that Alinskyism is DEAD?
